Central Plaza Chiang Mai Airport, also known as Airport Plaza, is a large shopping mall located south of the old city, right near the Chiang Mai Airport.
The shopping centre opened in 1996 and today is a modern mall with a number of popular clothing brands, a supermarket and electrical stores.

The mall is home to a large Robinson department store which sells cosmetics, clothing and electrical items. There are also other popular brands including: Uniqlo, Esprit, Converse, Giordano, Mango, Dorothy Perkins, Clarks, Levis, Lacoste, Nike, Dior, Body Shop, Crabtree & Evelyn and Daiso.
There is also a large Tops Supermarket located on the ground floor where you can purchase both western and Thai products. There are also pharmacies, banks and food stalls located on this level.
You will also find a huge range of services including hairdressers, massage parlours and mobile phone stores as well as computer stores, electrical, jewellery shops and sporting goods stores. How to go to Chiang Mai International airport from Central Plaza Airport Chiang Mai
Hi Charles,
You could in theory walk from the airport to Central Plaza as it’s less than 1km in distance, but if that doesn’t sound ideal, there are usually taxis, tuk tuks and songthaews at the airport.
Granted most of those might not be too keen taking you such a short distance as they are looking for a much longer fare, so if haggling doesn’t worth the hassle, just visit one of the taxi counters inside the terminal to organise the trip.
As for the return trip, you can use any of the same methods or use a Grab Car. There may be shuttles that leave the mall, but i think these only go to the tourist areas and not to the airport itself.
Thanks
Michael
