The Chiang Mai Night Safari is a popular tourist attraction in Northern-Thailand and is located just 12kms south-west of the old city.
The Chiang Mai Night Safari is home to over 130 species totalling about 1,400 nocturnal animals that graze, hunt and breed across the massive park.

The two safari zones, however, are the unique feature of the park with trams that take you on a tour to see the animals after the sun goes down. You can enjoy the safaris during the day as well, but this attraction is best enjoyed after dark!
The Savannah Safari Zone mimics the Savannah grasslands of Africa and you will find zebras, giraffes and rhinos here. The Predator Zone is home to the carnivorous animals and you will see lions, bears, cheetahs and tigers. Before boarding the tram for the safari tours, make sure to purchase food from the vendors near the entrance of the attraction as you will have an opportunity to feed giraffes, zebra and deer! The baskets of food only cost around 15 THB each. Each tram tour takes around 30 minutes to complete. Tram ride: English version, departs at 6.50pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm and 10.00pm.
There are also a number of shows and presentations that occur each evening at the Night Safari including a predators show, dancing show and animal feeding. Check out the schedule below. There is also a musical fountain show which plays at 8pm and 9.10pm daily.
Food and drinks are available for purchase at the zoo by way of a smart card. Simply load money onto your card and spend at any of the kiosks around the zoo.
To get to the Chiang Mai Night Safari in a number of ways. Uber will take you there for 250 – 300 THB per car. To get there by red truck (songthaew), the trip will cost 100 – 150 THB return per person. Make sure to confirm with your driver that they will be there to return you back to the city.
