Doi Mae Salong Mountain & Golden Triangle Trekking Tour, Chiang Mai
A trek up Doi Mae Salong leads up to panoramic views of the surrounding area. Depending on the weather, you may be welcomed by a stunning sea of fog that lifts to make way for the sun’s rays. You will also see the rolling slopes of nothing but green carpet-like tea plantations. It is common to spot tourists wandering across the vast plantations.
Away from the plantations on the mountain, you could also proceed to the tea factories where you will get to see live demonstration of tea processing. Grab a cup of hot tea and simply soak in the beauty of this amazing destination at sunset.
Other attractions on the mountain include the General Tuan Cemetery, the Martyrs’ Memorial Museum as well as the majestic statue of the Princess Mother. The best time to visit is during December through to February when the hills are covered with white plum blossoms and pink sakura cherry blossoms. It can be cool in the mornings and evenings, so make sure to bring a jacket. Nature lovers will fall in love with the diverse fauna on Doi Mae Salong.
