Fang Hot Springs

Fang Hot Springs is a relaxing attraction 3 hours north of Chiang Mai. Come and visit to warm your body in a natural body of soothing hot water that will melt the stress away.

Located within the Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park, this is a must-visit for anyone who wants to relax and unwind.

The area is surrounded by grass and trees in all shades of green. The springs are powered by underground heat and have tons of minerals with health benefits.

The heat is the result of hot magma underground that fires up the temperatures of the water. There are over 50 ponds, both big and small – all scattered throughout the area.

While it’s too hot to swim in the springs, standing near the water (that hovers from 80 to 100 degrees Celsius) is enough to obtain its benefits for both body and mind. The intense heat generated by the pond creates power which is used by the nearby towns. The geyser is the highlight of the park, which jets out sulphuric steam every 30 minutes, as high as 50 meters.

Aside from just warming up here, the springs also feature a lot of other fun activities. One of the best experiences here is boiling your very own eggs. When you arrive at the park, purchase some eggs and dunk them in the water for a few minutes.

Fang Hot Springs also offers several mineral water baths for visitors. There is an open-air mineral bath where you can stay in for as long as you like. Get rid of impurities and toxins from your body at the mineral water sauna.
