Hmong Village Traditional Hill Tribe Village & Market Doi Pui, Chiang Mai
Upon arrival, you will view the quaint houses made of wood and concrete in which two village tribes live: Hmong Njua and Hmong Daw. Foreigners will have trouble telling the different tribes apart, but there are significant religious differences between the tribes which manifest into different clothing and cultural practices.
Visitors are welcome to view the tribe and you will be able to watch as the tribe create goods from handwoven cloth. The village is set up like a craft market with stalls displaying souvenirs and hand made items. As you walk through the village, you will be offered a number of items for sale ranging from intricate embroidery, traditional clothing, elaborate jewellery as well as handwoven scarves and bags. Visitors are encouraged to purchase good from here as this supports the income of tribes.
There is a restaurant located inside the village where you can sit down and enjoy a traditional northern-Thai meal.
