Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir Temple

The Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir Temple is the only Orthodox church found in northern Thailand.

This beautiful church is tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood, far from the main road, so visitors are ensured silence and tranquillity here. Because the church is small, it provides a more intimate worship experience.

Visitors can come during the morning, afternoon, or evenings to do their prayers. The priests will welcome you and even have a chat with you if you’d like. They read the scriptures and prayers in Thai, English, and Russian so visitors will surely feel welcome. If you have time, ask for a history lesson and church tour from one of the priests, then join them for the service downstairs. The church’s rich history, as well as that of the Orthodox Church in general, are fascinating to learn about and anyone you find will be happy to share their stories.

The church has services every day, and during holy days and Sundays, go to the refectory to join them for the agape session as you indulge in tea and food with the company of others. Depending on how much time you have available here, you can participate in the services or even light a candle to say a quick prayer for your loved ones. This peaceful place is welcoming for all your needs, and they are welcome to absolutely all visitors.

The Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir Temple in Chiang Mai is also designed with a distinctly Russian style, and when the doors are closed, many describe a feeling like you’ve been transported to another dimension because of the serenity.

The church is located at 4 Srijundon Road in Chang-klan. It is open daily from 8am to 8pm.
