The Meechok Plaza is a shopping mall located in the Fa Ham area of Chiang Mai.

For all your grocery needs, head to the Rimping supermarket at the mall. It has a wonderful array of both local and international goods which are perfect for when you need ingredients to cook at home, as well as shopping for condiments and curry pastes to take home.

The other establishments here include spas, beauty salons, computer repair, massage parlour, children’s clothing, dentists, pharmacies, bakeries, and a wide range of shops.

It also has a nice mix of western and international dining outlets, such as Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Italian, and Chinese restaurants. There are also fast food outlets here for those of you who miss the taste of McDonald’s while you’re travelling.

If you think you’ll need to access the shops and services of the plaza frequently during your stay, the area is filled with several affordable hotels nearby.

Come by on a Monday or Tuesday night, when they have the Meechok Plaza open-air market which runs until late at night. Dozens of merchants set up shop to sell a wide selection of clothes, shoes, accessories, food, and much more. If you want to avoid the crowds, make sure to come to the market early.

Getting to the plaza is easy from almost any point in Chiang Mai; just hop on a motorbike or songthaew and you’ll be there before you know it.
