Chiang Mai has shopping covered, with over a dozen shopping malls and scores of local food and craft markets, you will be spoilt for choice.
Depending on what you are shopping for will determine where you go, but there are venues that specialise in clothing, electronics and fresh food.
Biggest & Best Mall Markets & Shopping Centres in Chiang Mai
For the best clothes shopping, head to Central Festival or Airport Plaza. They both have a good range of stores including a number of western brands such as H&M, Top Shop, Zara and Levis.
For electronics, head to Icon Mall and Computer Plaza which are located just north of the old city. Here you will be able to find phones, laptops, accessories as well as have electronic repair. The prices are cheap and the service is fast.
The best markets in Chiang Mai include The Sunday Walking Street Market, The Night Bazaar as well as the Wua Lai Market. The latter is also referred to as the Saturday Market. Both the Saturday and Sunday Markets are open on weekend days respectively, so you may need to plan for this accordingly. The Night Bazaar, just as the name suggests, is open every night, from late afternoon to 11pm. You can purchase nearly everything from the various markets including food, drinks, clothing, electronics, as well as the greatest range of unique hand made items and souvenirs.
