Wachirathan Waterfall

The Wachirathan Waterfall is an incredible attraction you will encounter within the Doi Inthanon National Park.

It’s the second biggest falls on the way to the summit, and is definitely one of the more impressive falls here.

The majestic multi-levelled waterfall drops around 80 meters, and during the rainy season, it provides the area with enough water for swimming. Just standing a few meters away from it will likely get you sprayed already, so make sure to bring a change of clothes. The mist from the falls creates a magical sight in the valley, but be careful if you are bringing electronics or other gadgets since protective casings are necessary.

Getting to the falls requires a bit of a hike, and proper footwear is recommended due to the muddy and slippery path. The Doi Inthanon National Park and its numerous attractions including these falls are best explored with the help of a friendly tour guide, whose services can be hired as soon as you get here.

After spending some time at the falls, see what the rest of the park has to offer. If you have plenty of time, staying at least overnight is recommended. There are some basic bungalows, as well as private campsites, where guests can stay even for several nights. Camping equipment and sleeping bags can be rented, so there is no need to bring these with you. Additionally, the park also has showers, toilets, and simple restaurants serving homemade Thai food.

It’s the ideal destination for visitors who love the outdoors because this protected area has so much to offer. The air here is cleaner and fresher, plus there are numerous outdoor activities to do.

If you are visiting Chiang Mai, let your tour guide know that you’d like to stop by the amazing Wachirathan Waterfall.
