Chiang Rai Airport, also known as Mae Fah Luang-Chiang Rai International Airport, offers both domestic and international flights for passengers. Its airport code is CEI.
Located just 10kms away from the city of Chiang Rai, Chiang Rai Airport was opened in 1992 and can easily be accessed by taxi for around 200 THB from the centre of town.

For those arriving via an international flight, you will need to complete an arrival card and pass through immigration. There is a Visa counter where you can apply for a Visa on Arrival and should make sure to bring two, one-inch photographs and also pay a processing fee of 300 THB. There is a photo service at the airport for 120 THB if you don’t have photos.
There is a car rental service available from Chiang Rai Airport with Hertz, Europcar, Avis, Budget, Alamo, National and Thai Rent a Car having desks. There is also car parking facilities at Chiang Rai Airport if you need to leave your car for a few days with prices at around 150 THB per 24 hour period.
Within the terminal, you will find currency exchange services, tourist sim cards for sale, as well as clothing, bags, travel accessories, souvenir shops and plenty of food and drink options. You could even get a foot massage at the spa whilst you wait for your flight!
There is free wifi located inside the terminal, but users must register by providing an email address.
